How Roboguard Works
The Roboguard sensor fresnel lens design emits 11 equally spaced passive infrared (invisible) beams, up to a distance of 20
metres, across a 110 degrees field of view. The Roboguard Sensor uses two PIR sensors which simultaneously assess the surroundings
and is designed to ignore small animals (i.e. it is pet immune) and birds, but will silently sent a radio signal to any Roboguard
decoder assigned to receive that signal, should a large animal or human trigger both beams. The Roboguard Sensor has been tried
and tested in the outdoors and a number of additional algorithms have been designed into the system's microcontroller to ensure
that very few false alarms occur.
The detection distance can be shortened down to 15 or 10 metres and the detection range (angle) can be narrowed by covering off
any of the 11 beams.
