Otherwise here is a quick overview of the 4 simple steps it take to get the Roboguard Early Warning system to function
correctly. Installing the basic ROBOGUARD system should not take longer than 30 minutes.
[1] Choose a suitable location on property to mount the Roboguard
Sensor

You should find a flattish vertical surface on which you can screw in the sensor (can use the rotating mounting bracket
for installation on walls).
The Roboguard Sensor should be within radio distance of the HQ (within 400m). It does not need line of sight as the
system communicates through walls.
The Roboguard Sensor should have an unobstructed “V” shaped view in front of each PIR sensor (min distance 10m / max
distance 20m). You can block off any of the 11 beams to narrow the horizontal detection field of view.
[2] Mount the Roboguard Sensor using 4 screws

Open up the Roboguard sensor (using the Allen key provided) and remove batteries to get access to the screw holes.
Ensure that the base of Roboguard sensor is at least 40 cm off the ground (if you want the sensor to detect small
children and medium sized dogs) or at least 75 cm off the ground (if it is only to detect adults and/or livestock).
If you wish, you can use a spirit level for accurate vertical alignment to ensure that the beam height at the
outer edges are not above or below optimum height.
[3] Connect batteries and undertake simple performance test to beam
detection heights

Prior to going live select sensor’s detection range switch to be either 20 m, 15 m or 10 m (depending on your
location).
Modify 110 degree field-of-view if a narrower detection area is needed.
Choose best operation mode to suit your environment (generally default setting is sufficient but there are 4
other detection algorithm settings).
Upon going live, Roboguard’s will be in test mode for 5 minutes and will emit a diagnostic buzzing noise (top sensor
will buzz twice / bottom sensor once).
Carry out a walk through test at appropriate distance to ensure beams are properly aligned (necessary if ground
slopes up or downwards from sensor).
[4] Close battery cover and assign (connect) the Roboguard sensor to
a free zone of the wireless handheld receiver (HQ)
Assign
a Roboguard by holding either the HQ “tamper” or “trouble”
switch unless a visible indicator remains illuminated (red light).
Select a desired zone number (1 to 4) and a green light will
appear. Press and release either the “tamper” or “trouble”
button, as selected above.
HQ will now accept the Roboguard by emitting 10 beeps and then flashing all lights. Your Roboguard is now fully
operational.
