Outdoor Security Sensors
To help you determine which cost-effective outdoor sensor is suitable for your application, we have categorised our sensors into
specific zone areas as not all sensors are suitable for all zones. The zones are illustrated below:

Zone 1: Perimeter
Zone 2: Driveway
Zone 3: Curtilage
Zone 4: Remote Areas

Roboguard Wireless Dual-PIR Sensor
This is a wire-free battery-operated dual-PIR sensor, designed to detect human movement and wirelessly
transmit the information to a Roboguard base station. This Dual-PIR sensor technology can detect movement up to 20 metres away, or
using a simple switch can shorten the detection range to either 10 m or 15 m depending on the dimensions of your property.
The Roboguard Dual-PIR Sensor is specifically designed as an early warning device and therefore is particularly suitable for zone
2 (driveway) and zone 4 (remote) locations due to low battery power consumption and the fact that it is a complete wire-
free sensor. The Roboguard Dual-PIR Sensor can also be used in zone 3 (curtilage) locations, but are not as feature rich as the
Maximum Outdoor security products, which offer additional active infrared and microwave technology security features.
These sensors have a 30 microamp (30µA) current consumption. Batteries typically last up to 3 years, if properly
maintained. The sensor will send a signal to the remote handheld decoder panel if low battery
power is detected and has a tamper alarm which triggers when the cover is removed.
Features
- Totally portable wire-free alarm sensor.
- Up to 20m monitoring range across a 110 degree field of view.
- Pet immune and learns its environment to reduce false alarms.
- Supervised two-way radio communication with Roboguard base station (receiver).
- UV stable moulded polycarbonate outer shell and a protective UV filter over lens to
extend life outdoors (with 10 year UV damage warranty).

Maximum Security (1984) wall "Guard"
Outdoor Motion Detector
This is a combined Double PIR sensor with Microwave technology. The wall "GUARD" has two synchronized PIR
sensors that produce a 3D thermal image of the protected area, which it combines with microwave scanning technology to provide
enhanced detection capability with increased reliability and immunity to false alarms. Using this technique allows high
sensitivity level adjustment in both detection technologies without the need for a pulse count.
The Guard Sensor is ideal for zone 3 (curtilage) locations. This sensor includes active infrared and microwave technology making
it one of the most advanced sensors on the market. The sensor has a range of sophisticated tamper protection features, such as
vibration detection (to detect if the sensor is being moved) and anti-masking detection (to detect if the sensor lens is being
covered or spray-painted).
These sensors have a current draw of 24mA @ 12V and requires its own 12V DC power source. The sensor can be connected to a range
of alarm systems, including the Roboguard system when connected to a wireless transmitter. An optional multi-directional wall
mounted bracket is also available.
Features
- 4-dimensional, all-in-one motion detector with 2 PIR's and a microwave sensor.
- Up to 12m monitoring range across a 110 degree field of view.
- High level of RFI/EMI immunity. Pet immune and auto temperature compensation.
- Tamper protection includes: Frontal Anti-masking by active infrared and unique
360œ anti-masking by microwave. Also includes vibration detection. - Comes with a 12 month manufacturer's warranty.

Maximum Security (1984) "Out-Smart"
Outdoor Motion Detector
This is a combined Double PIR sensor with Microwave technology. This is the latest sensor from Maximum Security
and is similar in design to the wall "Guard". However this sensor is more flexible with bracket-free mounting. There is an
internal multi-directional adjustment system that allows the internal sensor unit to rotate horizontally 180 degrees. This ensure
that you can aim the sensor detection area in the area you want and adjust it later for further optimisation with having to remove
the sensor off the wall. The "Out-Smart" sensor can also be controlled by its own remote control (optional).
The Out-Smart Sensor is ideal for zone 3 (curtilage) locations, but can also be used in more remote locations (with access
to a power source) as the sensor can be installed 1 to 2 meters
high. Similar to the wall Guard, this
sensor includes active infrared and microwave technology making it one of the most advanced sensors on the market. The sensor has
a similar range of sophisticated tamper protection features.
These sensors have a current draw of 35mA @ 12V and requires its own 12V DC power source. The sensor can be connected to a range
of alarm systems, including the Roboguard system when connected to a wireless transmitter. There is also a specific DVR/Camera
Trigger which activates and latches a relay output for 10 seconds allowing for automatic recording of images.
Features
- 4-dimensional, all-in-one motion detector with 2 PIR's and a microwave sensor.
- Up to 12m monitoring range across a 120 degree field of view (can be narrowed).
- High level of RFI/EMI immunity. Pet immune and auto temperature compensation.
- Tamper protection includes: Frontal Anti-masking by active infrared and unique
360œ anti-masking by microwave. Also includes vibration detection. - Unique internal adjustable housing to rotate field of view.
- Comes with a 12 month manufacturer's warranty.

Maximum Security (1984) "Active 50 / 100"
Perimeter Beams
ACTIVE is a dual-beam outdoor / indoor active infrared detection system. ACTIVE consists of two parts, an
infrared transmitter and its receiver. An alarm is activated when someone crosses the pair of active infrared beams. This
activates the changeover relay on the receiver part and lights the (switchable) red LED. The ACTIVE detection system is waterproof
and all-weather resistant, with excellent lightening protection and sensitivity adjustments for all conditions. In order to
eliminate any attempt of neutralize the receiver part by means of a foreign IR transmitter, constant synchronization exists
between the infrared transmitter and its receiver. This also ensures excellent immunity from false alarms. The ACTIVE beams can
also send "trouble" alerts if the detection of rain, snow, fog, heavy dust, etc. results in a reduction in quality of electronic
eye contact between the two parts of the system. The beams have a straightforward on-board alignment meter that ensure that both
transmitter and receiver are correctly positioned.
The ACTIVE Beam sensor is ideal for zone 1 (perimeter) and zone 2 (driveway) locations, but can also be used in more remote
locations (with access to a power source). The sensor can be installed at any height but it is generally recommended that they are
installed somewhere between 0.5 to 2 meters high. The area between the transmitter and the receiver must have a clear line of
sight to avoid false triggers.
The transmitter has a current draw of 57mA and receiver 30mA. They require their own 12V DC power source. The sensor can be
connected to a range of alarm systems, including the Roboguard system when connected to a wireless transmitter.
Features
- SYNCHRONIZED active infrared beams, to eliminate "cheating" the receiver with a
foreign IR transmitter. - Waterproof and all-weather resistant.
- Internal vertical and horizontal adjustable.
- Precise alignment by a built-in scale or externally by connecting a voltmeter.
- Adjustable beam interruption time.
- Changeover alarm contacts (N.C. / N.O.).
- Excellent lightening immunity.
- Easy Pole/Wall mount.
